People against the invasion unwittingly become supporters of the corrupt Iraqi regime, even if that is not their desire, that is the end result. That's a hard pill for them to swallow and they will deny it til their dying breath.

Although, it's favoured by those whose tiny minds are too blinkered to permit of anything other than absolute dualism. "You're either with me or with them", that kind of doltishness. I do not, have never, would never support Saddam. This does not mean I think it right - still less wise - to undertake this 'war'. We (or rather, the warmongers) have launched an unnecessary invasion, overthrowing Saddam (without even having a plan for what to do next) for fluid, hypocritical and/or undisclosed reasons. View the difference. Sorry, but this is not a Manichean universe. Most people with an mental age above four can surpass the level of argument which runs "Give me an ice cream or you hate me". "No - " "You hate me". It's hard to logically contradict to the dualist, because it assumes understanding they just cannot comprehend - but their stance is nonetheless incorrect. Simply because they cannot or will not perceive the wider focus does not make their split true. And the existence of one wrong thing (Saddam) does not make another wrong thing (invasion of a palpably weak and nonthreatening country) valid.
