It may take awhile, Amein. Picture California. About the same square miles as Iraq. Northern Californians and Southern Californians "sometimes" seem to speak as if they were from different planets. California has a very diverse population as well.

If California had a madman running it, and had been killing it's citizens for years... How long would establishing law and order take...?

To say nothing of establishing a complete government with all factions represented, and that wouldn't continue killing each other as they have for centuries?

And of course, finding all the WMD that several hundred refugee Iraqi's have talked to our government about for years...

As anticipated by the Pentagon, or by sheer luck, it's truly a blessing that Baghdad is now under coalition authority without a major protracted destructive battle and minimal loss of life...

Thank you for your comments, Amein M . Alsuezi. Naturally we are all very interested in how the people of the world are reacting. Please do not hesitate to to offer your comments (and questions) as events unfold over these next few months.

Regards,

>> it's no excuse for letting the Iraqis down at least twice before<<

I agree wholeheartedly. I wish this had been done years ago.
