Whats the old gag line, X? " I feel for ya, but I can't find ya?" There is no support for anything major in Africa. Clinton, who loved everybody, wouldn't do it. We will give em Peace Corps, Medical Aid, and food by the ton.We will get back reports of Tyranny, repression, genocide, starvation, and all sorts of disease. We will shake our heads, and do nothing.

Now turn one of these country's over to a hard charging Japanese or Chinese Corporation to run at a profit, and you will see real progress. The fruit you talk about would be selling in a local market. Light manufacturing, the kind that is labor intensive and needs low skills and low money, will be expanded. And in a few years you would see a prosperous, successful country.

Of course the EU would try to ban the fruit because it competing with their farmers. Our bleeding hearts would be demonstrating against the "Sweat Shop" conditions in the factories, and everyone would be shocked that a greedy corporation was making a profit off the misery of the "Poor but Proud" African people. :>)
