As I posted earlier, I am just astounded by this guy. The real struggle was the Political one here and at the UN.

Whoa, Michael, take a deep breath before the perfume of military victory gets too far into your soul.

We disagree, but mildly, about some things you said in this post. It's unfortunate that you and others have to make your points by demonizing posters who don't agree with you. But that happens so often on this thread that I tend to just sigh. And I've already made that point in a recent post to Paul Philp.

But universal values? Not hardly. This is a military victory done for reasons of national self interest which will have a side effect, hopefully, of making life better for some large portion of Iraqis. I fail to see how that makes Bush a revelatory embodiment of "universal truths." It's not exactly "might makes right" but not far from it, either.
