re:"Islamists, particularly extremist Islamists, HATED Saddam Hussein...Hussein had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11. His government had nothing to do with any islamic movement. He only used the term jihad when he wanted to encourage young men from other countries"

Sometimes you take your allies where you can...

"Two weeks ago the Philippines expelled Iraqi diplomat Husham Husain after discovering he had received a phone call from an Abu Sayyaf member the day after the group staged an October 3 bombing that killed a U.S. Green Beret on the southern island of Mindanao. After the diplomat's deportation, Abu Sayyaf leader Hamsiraji Sali stated on Philippine TV that Iraq was paying bounties to his gunmen to murder U.S. troops.

The Abu Sayyaf also has connections with al Qaeda. For a decade, Mohammed Jamal Khalifa, Osama bin Laden's brother-in-law, laundered money through his Manila-based front companies to finance the extremist group, among others in the region. Philippine intelligence believes that Ramzi Yousef, who planned the first World Trade Center bombing from Manila, had contact and training with the Abu Sayyaf. Ditto for some of the 9/11 hijackers." - Wall Street Journal, Feb 25, 2003

"O Muslim Brothers, let us promise to devote our lives to martyrdom in the way of Allah. America has attacked Iraq and soon will also attack Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Sudan. You should be aware the kafirs cannot bear the existence of Muslims and want to capture their resources and destroy them.

Get up and raise your weapons against America and Britain. If you hesitated today, you will be ashamed in front of Allah..." - Osama bin Laden, April, 2003

"Lumping all Arabs into one group and believing they share a single mindset leads to a complete misreading of the situation"

But from what I just read, he did not do that. Another example of a DISHONEST argument from the left. If I am wrong, please feel free to correct me. But it looks like a perfect example of how many on the left justify their positions.

Allen let's compare the recent D war to the current R war.

1) who posed a worse threat to the world Saddam or Milosevich?
Answer Saddam ( Milosevich never had anthrax sarin etc)
2) who has threatened the US S or M? Answer S
3) who killed his enemies. Both did Tie
4) who killed his own people by the hundreds of thousands?
answer S
5) who has donated great sums of money to terrorist organizations? Answer S
6) Who had torture chambers for little children? answer again S
7) Who had a plane a train and busses on a site solely for the purpose of terrorism. Again answer S

You know I could go on and on and on. The fact is the Democrats under Bill CLinton waged war against a nation that helped us fight the Nazis but they were the duly elected leaders of our country and felt it was justified. The left had zilch to say about this.

Well I guess the left just likes D bombs. As far as stating the left is non-violent what a joke. The left in this century has killed over a hundred million people to advance the socialist agenda. The so-called peace protestors are funded and organized by this extremist left movement.

Personally after 9/11 the R bombs were far more justified and needed than the D bombs.
