McCain Comes Against Bush in 2004:

If George W. Bush is a reformer, I'm an astronaut!
- John McCain

President Bush is in trouble. His approval rating has never been lower. Bush says that he hasn't seen numbers this low since he took his SATs.
- Conan O' Brien

Everyone knows the man has no clue, but no one there has the courage to say it. I mean, good gawd, the man is as he always has been : barely adequate.
- Jon Stewart

Bush : "I ask you to pray for this country.
Jon Stewart : "We are way ahead of you, Mr. President."
- Jon Stewart

I'm not sure he really understands a lot of issues. He seems to be given his lines by other people.
- Sting

I have been disappointed in almost everything he has done.
- Jimmy Carter

If they have a larger platform, its because they earned it.

I don't believe actors have "earned" a platform to speak and sway public opinion on subjects about which they're largely uninformed. They could "earn" such a position by being right, for a change.

Many of us believe they are right.

Just tonight I heard Ed Asner, STILL trying to assert that the Iraqi people aren't happy having been freed, and that the freedom, with the attendent problems, isn't really an improvement for them. These people are, to a large extent, extremist liberals who really don't have an appreciation for American freedoms.

Your playing with the truth again...........Asner asserted no such thing. What he did say is that he was not in favor of the war. Once Rita, the cow, absorbed the shock that someone was still against her glorious war she managed to keep him from really speaking anything of consequence during the next ten minutes he was on the show.

Fortunately, the grandson of Patton was on right after and she could wax on about all the wonderful things that happened in WWII and with Patton. I am sure she was close to organism.
