OK, I was wondering what the assumption was. You assume that the 6000 are singled out for following the rules, not that there is something different about them.

I assume that there is something different about them.

But you know what they say about the word "assume", don't you? That it makes an "ass" out of "u" and "me".

< It's very logical to just let them go.>

They probably will be let go soon, after getting some food, which many of them didn't have much of, before they surrendered. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of them would prefer the safety of POW camps, for the moment, until the fighting is all over.

A more interesting question is, what are we going to do with the non-Iraqi fighters, and the Islamists in that enclave on the Iran-Kurd border, and any Fedayeen who are still fighting next month, and the Baath leadership? We may not have to worry about that last, as they seem to have all gone to Syria.

Heard several reporters and commentators in today's news, openly advocating torture, to extract info from the captured weapons scientist. First we set up Guantanamo, then we complain about how American prisoners are treated, then we talk about torturing scientists. And then, we wonder why foreigners don't trust us to rule the planet.
