This isn't a repeat of Vietnam.

The collapse of the World Trade Center is proving to be more like the burning of the Reichstag than it is like Pearl Harbor. At it's worst Vietnam was a little far-away country that had no ability to harm the United States.

There is a distinct possibility that Junior Bush is leading us into an epic war pitting the nuclear powers of "Old Europe" and China with an alegance of convienence of Islamic nations, against the Angophiles of the U.S. and Britain. They are not going to sit back and let us rule the world without a response. If the course that Bush has set upon does not change, we are in for another full scale industrial world war.

In their latest Euro-summit about Iraqi humanitarian relief, the representatives seemed to be practicing the diplomacy of greeting a mad dog, they keep saying "Good Doggy" while figuring out how to find a bigger stick.

(If history continues to repeat itself, we are 10 years away, with Rumsfeld trying for a better missle defense while Europe and China decide if they can work together)
