The stock market was in a bubble, of that there can be no doubt. There really was a well functioning international economy which was not just GO-GO web sites, it was real product and real potential. Much of it was based on information, and that buzzword really means discresionary information such as movies or music via the internet, or interactive and cooperative business tools. This section collapsed with the policies of Bush Jr., everything from adult feature crackdowns to pulling the governmental inforamtion off the public scene had a hand in disabling the information revolution.
