Re: Eagleburger

Unless there is something in the context of the quote that softens it, the remark was clearly incompetent, inappropriate, and probably harmful.

On Hannity and Colmes last night he explained it pretty well. Basically he was saying if Bush goes off half-cocked he would be impeached. In order to invade Syria he would have to go back to the people and get them on board first (not to mention congress etc.). His point was, Bush isn't going to invade Syria "on the fly". Saying he'd be impeached and deserve it was just a way to emphasize his point.

Granted, he could have chosen much better words, but in the context he described, I do actually agree with him.

Former Sec. of State Lawrence Eagleburger: Bush Should Be Impeached If He Invades Syria or Iran

I was shocked Eagleburger would have made such an inept remark. Particularly after having criticized the administration prematurely before the Iraq war, only to have to later eat his words over and over. He seems to have become something of a loose cannon.

If you think Eagleberger is a lose cannon, test him out.......have Bush invade Syria. You might be surprised at the reaction.

Unless there is something in the context of the quote that softens it, the remark was clearly incompetent, inappropriate, and probably harmful.

You, of course, are entitled to your opinion.
