No, actually I think Ford and GM are in big trouble, especially given the fact how they are struggling. After a long run of record car sales, and record low interest rates, both should be in very good shape. But their results and their market caps paint a very different picture from that of health. And like you point out, the debt loads and contingent liabilities (such as pension and health care costs) are pretty frightful. DB
