Re: Baird downgrade

I am actually impressed that Baird responded so quickly with a downgrade. This is not a bad thing, but responsible analysis. When Baird upgraded WSTL, they gave it a $4 price target based on CY03 earnings. $4 keeps the multiple below 30, which is more than reasonable. Let's not forget, WSTL still has debt and very little cash. Should SBC be onboard for significant business, that could be good for another 4 cents a quarter. If orders remain at the current level for a whole year, then we are looking at over 30 cents EPS in FY04. I believe if that is Baird's prediction, they will raise WSTL to an outperform and raise the price target to 7 or 8 dollars. Just wait and see on SBC and projected orders. I think Baird will do the right thing at the right time. I think this downgrade was also the right thing based on valuation. It met their price target very early, what else are they supposed to do?
