OT ... cheryl, re "Will world events have a major impact upon the stock market?? You betcha... "

I agree. But KG4 made a polite and reasonable request, IMHO.

And you respond with a rationalization .. attempting to justify all the off-topic posts on this thread. Please, at least put an "OT" or "off-topic" at the beginning of those posts.

Thanks, Ron

Unfortunately, Sun & other in the Tech industry are dead in the water until these world events are resolved.

And SUN convinces enterprises that proprietary Solaris technology is more cost effective over the long term than industry standard Intel-based technology.

And a new killer App appears that turns PC growth from 0 to something positive.

And telecom spending comes back.

It's going to be a long, long wait, if you ask me....

I agree, but A) most posts are not discussing this. Most poists are people arguing that their political point of view is correct, while pointing out flaws in others political point of view. I see very, very little dscussion on how these world events are going to effect sunw, the markets and etc....seems like people arguing their political agenda and pointing faults in others point of view. B) Nothing wrong with the above, I just think there are places to discuss NON SUNW related subjects. The discussions you folks are having are fine, and to be expected, but I still dont think SUNW board is the place to discuss politcal agenda's, unless it is in correlation with SUNW.

For instance, I agree that war, economy, world events are the hot topic of discussion right now, but some people dont want to read politcal propoganda. Some people have no desire at all to talk, or read "politics", yet they co0me to sunw board and have no choice. They see 20 posts, assume it has something to do with SUNW, and they end up reading 18 posts about politics, having nothing to do with SUNW and maybe the ocassional post about SUNW. Thats my whole point. With so many places to go to discuss politics and with the option of creating your own board for such discussion, I dont think the sunw board should turn into the political debate board. Like I said, nothing wrong with such discussion, and such discussion should be expected, but many people dont want to get involved, and they are not given a choice. They are SUNW shareholders, that come here, hoping to get info, opinions and etc on SUNW and instead all they see are politcal fights. It's too easy to take the political posts elsewhere if they dont relate directly to sunw, and spare people with no desire for political rants, and are just looking for sunw info. JMO, and put yourself in their shoes. Lets say for whatever reason, the mere thought of war, politics or whatever has a negative impact on you, and you come here to look for info on sunw, and instead are forced to read political propoganda, simply because they dont know what the post is about until after reading it. Not fair to alot of people, especially when it is so easy to move thew discussion. This has happened on many SI boards, and the consensus around most of those boards was when the talk got to 80% politics, everybody agreed to start a new board, so as not to take up board xyz, meant for stock xyz, with all political talk....so people saved the boards and took their discussion elsewhere, where anybody could join in if they want, but others arent forced to if they dont want to.....

Respectfully, KG
