Hussein Kamel and present this misleading version to U.N. and press to make it appear that Iraq has banned WMD when the unfalsified version actually says he knows they destroyed all WMD and also that he personally prohibited them from producing WMD; or that the administration would present satellite evidence of WMD sites and present this to the UN, and claim their secret intelligence links it all up. Some people might even think that the administration has done all it could to groom the public on the lie that Iraq was behind the bombing of the WTC, or that it would raise the terror threat level simply as a means to manipulate the public in the same way that Hitler did to get his masses to comply. You can dredge up all the loony-toon conspiracy theories you want to attempt to link observations regarding the current administration's behavior with the fanatical ravings of others, but it won't change reality, although it might sway people who get their reality feeds from FOX. In US Court of law, the fabrication of evidence is considered a crime and the attorneys responsible disbarred even when the defendant is eventually found guilty. In many cases, a conviction is thrown out, or certain blocks of subsequently acquired evidence is disallowed which makes conviction all the more difficult. There are regimes that do not have this protection -- Iraq was one of them. If people cannot be honest about their motives, then falsifications, subterfuge, and lies are sure to follow. Those who know the true motives and who have no integrity will do all they can to further the cause in the name of blatant self interest. None of the lies and deceit (and mass delusion) have altered my opinion that SM's Iraq had nerve gas or other WMD agents. But like Yogi, if any WMD are found, I will have to weigh the nature of the evidence against this administration's known level of integrity. One way I will do that is to use overseas news sources to complement the Seattle Times and the local network affiliates (esp. KING, the NBC affilate, but never, ever FOX) -- the sources I currently use include TV from Australia, Canada, and India, plus published information from Germany and Russia, and also within the US, Democracy Now, Truth Out, Information Clearing House, the New York Times, and tidbits here and there. Eventually it doesn't matter a whole lot to my friends and neighbors if I figure out the truth -- I just want to know what kind of country I live in for my own peace of mind and for voting.
