I remember when the war just started, I was listening to a talk show on Saturday, the host said that he was sick of all those talks of how United State has very little history etc. So he did a research himself and he found out that Iraq is only a country with 70 years of history. The guy then scolded the other countries as he was so delighted with his find. Then there are a bunch of callers called in, laughing at the lack of history of the Iraqis, there was no single caller called in to say otherwise when I turned off the radio and parked my car.

I will ask one more question here: why the US gov. only instructed the US soldiers to protect the Oil field in Iraq, but not those PRICELESS historical heritage? Perhaps because Saddam's history has shown that torching the oil fields is to be expected. Secondly, perhaps we never thought people would be ignorant enough to destroy THEIR OWN historical artifacts. JB
