Two nights ago I broke my personal rule against watching US network news to see how they would play the story about the shooting in Mosul (it was not even mentioned on the two networks I watched). They did run a story on the targeted bombing in a residential area of Baghdad that was purportedly an attempt to kill Hussein using bunker busting bombs and creating a 60 foot deep crater. Reporters were talking with local residents who indicated that no US troops had been to the site since the bombing. An unusual absence of activity to determine if they were successful in their attempt since this is a primary goal of this massive effort.

Not at all similar to the endless speculation that occurred with OBL in Afghanistan.
