I sent TD Waterhouse an email last year telling them that I thought offering MD to new accounts and President Account holders would be a great marketing tool for them to attract new customers (and I still think it would be). Even if it was just for a limited time and then charged extra for the service. I got no reply......guess that would be too easy.

Sue:

I answered you on iHub, and a few others by e-mail, but I've done a bit more digging, and I'll give you the update here.

The whole idea of delayed market depth started on the old ASE, where their site offered it for free. So, too, did Stockwatch therefore.

Then, the ASE merged with the VSE, becoming the CDNX. The provision of delayed market depth continued and spread westward. Stockwatch carried on providing the data.

Then, the CDNX became the TSX-V. Guess what...

The TSX-V has now declared that the delayed market depth can no longer be provided for free.

Regards,

WillP
