Illegal right turn snags top biker ANGUS LOTEN The Gazette Friday, April 18, 2003 A Hells Angels biker sought in the death of a police informer in the United States over a decade ago was arrested last night after being stopped for turning right on a red light last Friday. Richard Vallée, who helped form the elite Nomads chapter of the Hells Angels with Maurice (Mom) Boucher in 1995, was arrested by a Sûreté du Québec tactical squad coming out of a dépanneur on St. Mathieu St. just after 7 p.m. last night. Vallée had been picked up by Montreal police last Friday for turning right on a red light at the corner of Sherbrooke St. W. and Décarie Blvd. After failing a breathalyzer test, he was taken into custody, fingerprinted and released under a promise to return for a court date . A handgun and cash were found in his car. Vallée had altered his appearance and was carrying a driver's license under the name Guy Turner, said Sûreté du Québec Constable Jayson Gauthier. A technician matched his prints this week to those of one of Canada's most wanted men. Gauthier said "investigative techniques" led police to Vallée's address in Laval and officers had been following him since. Vallée had not been seen since fleeing police custody on a motorcycle while being treated at St. Luc hospital in June 1997. He was then two days away from being extradited to the United States in connection with the 1993 car bombing of a police informer there, as well as drug trafficking charges. Gauthier said Vallée had been in Costa Rica before returning to Montreal in mid-March. He will now likely be extradited to the United States on the initial murder charge, Gauthier said. "This is one of the most wanted men in North America," Gauthier said. aloten@thegazette.canwest.comcanada.com Think he'll honor his promise and show up? nah... steve
