If they had no chemicals, why did they need all those thousands of new anti-chemical/bio suits? Why did they need the syringes with antidotes?

You posted that you thought Saddam was a scumbag dictator. So you must have read about the torture, killing, rape, etc. It's obvious that the UN and the rest of the world was content to let this game play out for years more.

Would you really have preferred him to be in power, killings thousands more of his own people? Or do you ignore that and say you did not witness it personally?

I believe we will find out in the weeks to come whether or not Hussein had a WMD program or not.

I would genuinely be astonished to learn that he had no such program. There is a ton of circumstantial evidence to indicate that he did. The chemical suits, the atropine syringes, the mobile chemical labs and the less than cooperative attitude towards the inspectors to name a few.
