I have no idea what you mean by a "stable USA". I suspect it has something to do with getting rid of George Bush, but maybe you can elaborate.

As for an isolationist USA. I would suggest that the odds are extremely remote. The USA plunged out of it's isolationist mode after the effects of WWI and WWII realizing that it was impossible not to be effected by political events in the world. The spread of communism after WWII all but insured that the US would take a pro-active role in international affairs.

Today Terrorism fills the role that the communist threat filled in past decades. If you want an isolationist America you will have to lull us to sleep with 50 years or so of peace on earth.
