Forces from the only worlds superpower have kept the peace all over the planet for the better part of 50 years.

I dont agree, but you are entitled to live in your delusional world.

<Why bother, it's self evident. Forces from the worlds only superpower have kept the peace all over the planet for the better part of 50 years.>

Michael, that's simply untrue. Falkland Islands, Rwanda, Pol Pot, Vietnam, East Timor, Chechnya, Afghanistan [in 1989], various latin America, Iran/Iraq war, Israel vs the rest, the Prague spring, China vs Vietnam and many other conflicts. There hasn't been peace all over the planet, ever. The USA has not kept peace. No doubt they have restrained some expansionary thuggery though.

We now have an opportunity via a reconstituted UN, and USA will, to deal with lots of barbaric situations such as those of Taliban, Saddam, Syria's Lebanon and Palestinian activities, and so on down the list of problems.
