We have removed the most dangerous, brutal regime in the Middle East from the equation. Yes, and Clinton removed the most dangerous dictator in all of Europe. Your point was? What we have done has FUNDAMENTALLY re-shaped the future of the Middle East -- even anti-Bush experts admit that. They do? Well, then, its much harder to please me. Simply, taking out a dictator doesn't do the trick for me.We haven't, but we WILL, eliminate tons of chemical and biological agents currently stored in Iraq. And, as a by-product, we freed 23M people. The people of Iraq are, in large measure, elated (I know, I know, there was a demonostration that involved a couple thousand anti-Americans, but you can't please everyone). Certainly, in no way does this look like any strategy we've had for the last 60 years! Really? How is this different from Yugoslavia, Kuwait 1991, Korea, Vietnam etc? There is little if any evidence that terrorism has been dealt a fatal blow other than Bush's self serving comments. Bin Laden is unable to function, and in fact, may be dead or dying; Yeah, I've heard that one for months now......right before a new tape comes out or their is a bombing in Bali, Yemen or the Phillipines. Once again, whatever Bush says you believe, even when there is evidence to the contrary staring you in the face. at the very least, he recognizes that sending idiot suicide bombers to the United States may not just result in THEIR deaths, but could well result in his own. The training grounds for Islamic Extremists are gone -- they can't practice (which is what made them deadly). In short, Al Qaeda's ability to hit us has been devastated. Is there still a threat? Yes, but it is a fraction of what it was at 9/11. I agree that al Qaeda has been damaged but a fraction of 9/11? I doubt it.And as far as cleaning up the neighborhood, all that's happened is Saddam is gone. ALL THAT'S HAPPENED?!? Let's face it. You and Al and the other liberals were wrong about every aspect of this war. Wrong? How's that? My concern is that we will be stuck there for years and spend billions upon billions. Nothing has changed that perspective. In fact, its looking worse. There is no guarantee that Iraq will turn into the guiding light you so hope. In fact, already evidence is suggesting otherwise. Well, there is no guarantee. But there is NOT evidence "suggesting otherwise". It is early in the process, but what is going on in Iraq right now is all basically good when compared with where they were 3 months ago. That's like comparing a dying patient to a dead one. You've got the big money on the Palestinian conflict -- THAT's where you THINK the problem is. Further, you would have us believe Bush has failed in this regard. You've got me all wrong. I want out of the ME period....that includes Israel/Palestine. If we do have to meddle in Palestine, lets stop giving Israel carte blanche and really start trying to negotiate the peace. But I am the first to suggest we stop playing policeman to the world. I think we should help the countries who are trying to progress and stay away from areas like Iraq where the people are corrupted and don't want any better. While the Palestinian conflict is less important than you and many others believe, the reality is that Bush has made more progress on resolving it than has been made since the 60s. This statement is so fucked up and so misrepresents the facts, it makes me question your sanity. You obviously are brainwashed and just can't see the forest for the trees.
