I actually got sucked into "speaking for the black community"! I really started talking about Rice. I don't think many women will support her. Somehow the black thing got brought up, but that was not my original point. As far as a black neighborhood, well, that would be Oakland across the bay for me, and I haven't been there for 6 mos. No real reason to go there actually. However, my neighborhood in SV is decidedly mixed-race. More non-whites than whites, for sure. California in general is minority white now, apparently. In SV we have a lot of what I would call mixed-race folks, teenagers who have one indian parent and one american-italian, people like that. I'm actually hopeful that racism ends in the next 50 years or so based on the melting pot we have here. Just a dream though.
