And some of us just get fed up and turn it off. We had a great time in Barcelona this weekend and plan multiple trips around Europe this summer including a couple to France. It's nice to be back in an environment where people of all sorts can mix and enjoy and not play flag-thumper day and night. Let the "real Americans" enjoy their little hate-filled playground. The rest of the world will go about its business and treat them like the screaming little brats they are ("We're #1 and you suck! We're #1 and you suck! We're #1 and you suck! We're #1 and you suck! We're #1 and you suck! We're #1 and you suck! We're #1 and you suck!"). Yeah that inspires awe and respect wherever we go. The fantasy of universal American domination worldwide will be shown up for the nonsense it is soon enough. Only six weeks until the next G8 summit in Evian, France. Should be a fun one to watch.

For every nationally syndicated tight wing* talk show, there are many more local shows which are even more hateful.* Though it may well be a typo, I think you win this week's award for best new political term.

Olympia Snow claims to be a moderate. She might as well just change parties. And you bet I listen to Rush. Not every day, but enough to know that he is an outstanding source for truth and facts about the bs that the left spews out. <<Can you imagine an independent or moderate talk show having a chance at being a financial success? I can't>> Gee, you don't suppose there just might be a reason for that, do you? That there is no market for those views in the heartland? Did you ever think that maybe conservative talk radio is successful is because that's where the country is? Take a look at the electoral map of the country in the 2000 presidential elections, and you will see where the country is. In nearly every place in the entire U.S. except the big cities, where the libs reign supreme, the conservatives hold sway. And I'm terribly sorry to disappoint you, but Bush wins at least 55% of the popular vote in 2004 and strengthens majorities in Congress at the same time. The second term is when some things actually might get done in this country.
