Here's one for you Internet map users:

If you ask Yahoo! Maps to direct you from the Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario airport (airport code YAM) to Mackinaw City, Michigan, it gives you a route that is 889.0 miles long (13 hours, 40 minutes driving time) which goes through Sudbury Ontario, Toronto, Kitchener, Sarnia, crossing into Michigan at Port Huron, then Flint, Saginaw, and on up North through the Lower Peninsula to Mackinaw City.

If you ask Mapquest, it directs you across the border into Michigan and then directly down I-75 for 87.96 km directly into Mackinaw City.

Apparently, Yahoo! Maps is unaware of the existence of the Mackinaw Bridge, which opened 40 years before Yahoo was started. <g>
