I don't understand why the gay-rights groups are fuming

I've always like Santorum, but I disagree with his remark. I don't believe incest is consensual, and therefore can and should be outlawed.

But I personally believe a person who chooses to do so ought to have every right to engage in bigamy, polygamy, or adultery. That's not to suggest that I condone those things, but it does seem to me that you have a draw line between private behavior and these other things -- rape, incest, etc. Surely, Mr. Santorum doesn't think we should enforce any law against adultery?

It really seems black and white to me (as it usually does):

Pedophilia - Illegal
Rape - Illegal
Incest - Illegal
Adultery - Wrong, but legal
Homosexual Activity - Confused, but legal
Porn - Okay
Kiddie Porn - Illegal
Sexual Intercoure - Okay
Oral Sex - Okay
No Oral Sex - Bummer

If any of you people need further information on what activities are or are not approved, feel free to respond and I'll try to get you an answer before bedtime...

Ted, I don't understand why the gay-rights groups are fuming. Here is what Sen. Santorum said:

"If the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual (gay) sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery. You have the right to anything," Santorum, R-Pa., said in the interview, published Monday.

I don't see him comparing homosexuality to these other acts. I only see him warning about the dangers of blurring the line between what should be acceptable and what shouldn't be.

For most people, incest would be very unacceptable. For those people, they do not believe you have a right to practice incest within your home. So what Santorum is saying inversely is that if you find incest unacceptable and we do, then homosexuality is equally unacceptable.

In fact the Supreme Court has said you have the right to consensual gay sex within one's home; however, it has never said that incestuous sex is acceptable and can be had in one's home.

I am surprised.....you usually pick up on this stuff fairly quickly.
