There is some genetic component to race. Genes partially determine skin coloration and facial characteristics. And there are other less visible components: Blacks are subject to sickle cell anemia; other races much less so. One sickle gene increases resistance to malaria, a major killer where blacks originally lived. Two are fatal, though. These days the most importance characteristics of humans are mental. I know of no evidence suggesting racial differences here. And in dealing with people, characteristics like humor, adaptability, tactfulness, and character are important. They also have no racial bias in their distribution.

I have a foster cat staying with me right now, a rescue. She's a domestic long hair, brown tabby on top and white below. Her appearance is almost identical to a former cat of mine. I was just shocked when she behaved just like my cat, as well. Same voice, same way of communicating with me, same style of play, favorite spots in the house, etc. I recognize that pure-bred animals have packaged personalities to go with their looks, but it never occurred to me that, say, voice, might go with coloring in an alley cat. Don't know whether this incidence is typical or not. Don't know if it means that seemingly unrelated characteristics like voice and coloring might go together in people, as well. Just found my experience with this cat interesting. BTW, if you know of someone who might be interested in a lovely older cat, please let me know. She's sweet, playful, mellow, and has no bad habits that I can find, quite a lovely cat. Declawed. The person who rescued her is looking for either an adoptive home or a permanent foster home for her and, in the latter case, is willing to subsidize her care in perpetuity.
