Clinton's economic team deserves TOTAL CREDIT for their boom. Their economic policies were passed against FIERCE GOP opposition in congress. Armey and Gingrich swore Clinton's tax hikes would destroy our economy. Boy were they embarrassed.

Reagan had little to do with the Clinton years except leaving behind massive unpaid debt. Of course Clinton didn't have a Cold War to worry about, Which only proves, peace brings prosperity. Why dont we get back there now? But Bush doesn't do peace and prosperity. He's the war-recession candidate.

Government doesn't create wealth, its citizens do. The best thing government can do is serve as an unbiased referee, reduce its own burden on the populace, and stay out of the way. GW's policies don't go far enough in that regard, imo, but he's a darn sight better than anything the Democrats are able or willing to offer

Thank you, thank you, thank you. :-) Why do you think that this simple truth escapes so many nominally intelligent individuals??

With the exception of Truman (*which was the last time we had a fully GOP controlled house & senate after WWII) we see that the GOP holds all records for the longest streaks of lost jobs.

1970-1971: 13 months (NIXON)
1954-1955: 14 months (EISENHOWER)
1974-1975: 14 months (FORD)
1949-1950: 15 months (TRUMAN)*
1957-1958: 15 months (EISENHOWER)
1982-1983: 17 months (REAGAN)
1990-1992: 17 months (BUSH)
2001-2003: 23 months and counting...(BUSH)

..gee, I wonder which party handles the economy better?
