It's absolutely, positively about culture.

Can't dance in a burkha, can't eat a quarter pounder while wearing a veil. Can't dance after husband beats you.

Can't listen to R&R in an Islamist state.

Can't see Rambo or cowboy movies. <gg>

You got the point, at least in the most part of the world, people have far more tolerance to themselves than to the outsiders. Here is the order of where your love goes to:

1) Your family
2) Your region (city, community)
3) Your country.
4) Your race
Throw in the religious and other factors, things won’t change that much.
