Oh contraire. That is why so many people around the world wanted the UN involved -- to give the US-led effort legitimacy which it now sorely lacks. If you do not understand that you are not likely to understand anything else about Iraq, the middle east and US foreign policy.

The UN has no legitimacy

The UN has all the legitimacy an international organization can ever need, thanks to the fact that all countries concerned SIGNED its Charter. Including the US of A.

It is downright pathetic that just because the UN does not share the US' newfound enthusiasm in bombing the hell out of whatever country it feels like, some of you now dare say the UN has "no legitimacy".

Unreal.
