What's the problem with hearing from someone who does not share that view?

The same problem with hearing from people who think the FBI and the CIA killed JFK or the people who think Clinton bumped off Vince Foster and arranged the plane crash that took out Ron Brown.

These are conspiracy theories.......although I have never heard the ones that claim Clinton arranged the deaths of Foster and Brown........I think you have stretched things to make a point.

In any case, Hartmann's article is not based on a conspiracy theory. Instead, he is pointing out what he considers to be similarities between Hitler and Bush.

Its one thing if someone has concerns that some of the new laws or executive orders go to far or are a bad idea, or are abusive and wrong. Its another entirely to say that American democracy is in danger and Bush is like Hitler.

Let me tell you, if you are black or gay in this country you have good reason to fear the current party in power and question their loyalties to the democratic processes. In the past six months, some of the very top Reps. have made remarks that very easily can be construed as bigoted and suggest they do not see all people as equal.

In the past six months, we fought a pre emptive war and openly toppled a gov't.........a first for this country.
In the process we have alienated a number of our allies and incurred the bad will of most of the world. We were a nation that fought wars as a last resort; not this time.

In the past year, we have seen several attempts [some successful] by this administration to curtail individual freedoms in the name of fighting terrorism. It can be argued that the administration has manipulated the fear caused by the 9/11 terrorist attack to its advantage.

I think those are just a few of the issues raised by Hartmann. These are not conspiracies but rather realities. And it isn't just some left wing fringe group or Hollywood that feels that way. So I do not see Hartmann's concerns as so many conspiracy theories or the rantings of a mad man.
