Brian, Historically Franco/Russia alliance in place to contain germany. German pacifists fell for the bull from their non-pacific friends in france and russia who were trying to save their arses. In the end US will do that for them by not releasing all the info garnered in iraq about france and russia. France has already started the payoff process to the US by supporting an end to sanctions. Now if they stop Blix too, it will be a major deal. mike
