Great idea, Gus! I'll update the ownership list as soon I finish bouncing my cp995 off the concrete floor in the garage. It's pretty sturdy, but I figure 3 or 4 more drops will finish it off.

Question for anyone who might be able to help me get through a road block...

I bought the Nikon 5700 yesterday.
Today, trying to download the software to view the shots on my computer.

Well, I got the software downloaded okay
But when I go to transfer photos, I have the problem.
According to the instructions, all goes well until I get to the point where:

"Nikon View 5 will automatically detect the camera and display the Nikon Transfer window.
Click on the (transfer) button.

the problem is, it doesn't detect the camera so I can't click on the transfer button.

Then I pull up the "Nikon View 5" program and under "tools"
click on "Launch Nikon Transfer" but I get a pop up window with the following message:

There is no CF card in the connected camera or the card reader

Now, I know there are images on the card cuz I can view them on the LCD monitor.
Also, I've rebooted twice, removed and put back into the camera the CF card, but I still get the same gosh darn problem.

If anyone has an idea as to what I'm doing wrong and how I can get it right
I'd surely appreciate any responses.

Thanks.

P.S> I get the same error message if I try to transfer photos and the USB cord isn't connected to the camera.
Oh, and I've tried all the other USB ports too.
I'm just dumbfounded at this point.
