Why should we not be willing to sacrifice lives in peace time for our liberty, when we are so ready in war? There is so much more to gain when striving for liberty. Through war it becomes a question of who loses the most, there is nothing to be gained. For example, even if the U.S. sucessfully seizes the oil fields of Iraq, what was really gained? There was never any doubt that the oil would be sold by someone anyway and find it's way into your gas tank. TP

Again you make it personal. I don't need to do that. Oh, please. At least TRY to be honest. Saying "Frankly, you could have lived in the former USSR with the KGB protecting you, if you wanted to live like that" isn't being personal? I raise a legitimate question. You go and claim that I am advocating "Well, by all means, let's have armed gunmen raid every ethnic restaurant in the county, on the pretext that they might uncover a plot." Which if you had either any intelligence or any integrity you would know perfectly well is a total perversion of what I was saying. I make a post that wasn't to you. You jump in with a personal attack on me and a total perversion of what I posted. And you claim I'M the one being personal? There was a time I thought you had some intelligence. Why are you so insistent on proving me wrong? Are you so desperate for people to post to that your only way to communicate is to attack somebody so absurdly that you hope they just can't ignore your attack? That's so sad.
