That's a serious indictment of the current regime in the US. That's one of several instances of documented willingness to use literally draconian methods, in secret, to drive the power of the state against the people. It's hard for we mostly naive Americans to believe, and those who want to avoid responsibility can find easy ways to ignore it.

The issue of geotype-targeting bugs is one of several types of biowarfare the Federation of American Scientists is tracking, and taking heat for. What motivates scientists and other thinking citizens is the level of secrecy and potential criminality of the authors and their cohorts.

Were these military techniques overseen even by saints it would be a concern. We've learned over 200 years not to trust central gov'ts, that power can bring out the worst in people if allowed to fester in secret. What we have in office aren't saints, even tho' they would have us believe that.
