I am not so sure about that. As a wise man once said, "Religion must remain an outlet for people who say to themselves, 'I am not the kind of person I want to be.' It must never sink into an assemblage of the self-satisfied." One problem with organized religion is that it redirect's one's attention from improving themselves towards climbing the social ladder and getting into who is more faithful pissing contests. Another problem is that by the virtue of being surrounded with so many people who think just like you, one becomes too dogmatic and loses the ability to see alternatives. As I said, it is when we believe ours is the best for everyone and cannot possibly be mistaken that we are most dangerous. Organize religion tends to do that to people.
