The contrast between Rumsfeld's (alledly) triumphant welcome by the troops in Baghdad and the desperate situation of the civilians could not be more stark. The CBC carried a conversation between an Iraqi in Toronto and his cousin in Baghdad which was absolutely chilling. 60% of the residents worked for the government. The US stood by and let all the ministries (except as noted oil) be destroyed and so there are as yet no jobs, no paychecks, no electricity, no water. It's a bloody disaster and the US and Britain had no post war plan. Yet Bush will strut in triumph on a carrier in the Pacific today like some sort of throwback to WW2. Wake up America!
