Yeah, sure. But it is now POSSIBLE for a cook to be taken and held INDEFINITELY, without even a charge.

Somewhere between several hundred and a few thousand ordinary immigrants have been hauled off on suspicion as zonder describes. It's an ugly process what wouldn't last if they were citizens.

My fear is that "reasonable" Americans will accept the same treatment for "suspicious" US citizens next. It will go as far as the courts and public outrage let it go.

So far, it's going too far, IMHO. Look at how heavily policed Israel is now with little success against bombers of all types. It's possible to kill your democracy while trying to defend it.

(No, I don't have any magic solution for the Middle East either, just illustrating a point)
