It would be better to not interfere in capitalism by subsidizing that wheat to begin with... or tobacco... or mohair, etc. That way it wouldn't be 'rotting in silos' to begin with.

I couldn't agree more. The less government interference the better imo.

(Of course, we should still use a BIG Stick with other nations [France, Germany, Japan] who subsidize and corrupt the markets as well.)

I don't know........I think GWB should propose opening free trade between those nations that support the US, I don't think we should make any agreements with France, Russia, or Germany until they start behaving like civilized nations. Until Canadians get rid of Jean Cretin, they remain stuck with tariffs.

So if a country is starving and the US wants to send them some wheat, we should buy it from Canada and send it to them rather than our own wheat?
