Big difference, isn't it?

My father was a bit sore after GWI vets got a hero's welcome home. He had to sneak home from Vietnam. He got drafted and could have stayed Stateside because my uncle Paul was already over there. He took his brother's place so Paul wouldn't get his ass blown off. Then he had to slink home so he wouldn't get eggs thrown at him in the airport, like he was a war criminal. Real shame our guys got treated so bad.

Derek

We have so few casualties, compared to other wars, that each one stands out.

WE (in the US) have the luxury of counting casualties in the hundreds on our side. The Iraqi population has a very different count of casualties on their side.

It certainly helps to have a President who supports the Military, in every way. Hopefully, NEVER again, will we send any of our Military to be in harms way, without every support possible. Viet Nam was such a disgrace to our Government. I was always our Military did as well as they did, considering how little ammo and tactical support they received from our Government.
