Well, I don't know about Steven, but I was going to answer that post of yours.

The short answer is that the government present one case when in reality it is another. So long as they are not willing to come out clean and say we do this because it is in our interest instead of because we want say Iraqis to experience freedom and good government (LOL!) they will be chastised for this hypocrisy. Personally I think they don't want to come clean because then they will have to get into little inconvenient details like whose interests are we really talking about and how much is that interest worth or is it really in the interest to do so. And I really don't think they want to face or answer those questions.

Ultimately, there can be only one government in the world but that will be in a federated (or confederated) model. In order for such world government to exist, its citizens need to feel a sense of equality and fairness. So long as we do not promote such values, we are delaying the inevitable and prolonging the bloodshed and misery.
