I don't care for Byrd or Lott. I think Byrd's KKK connection is so far back that it is like going after the Repubs for alleged things done by Pinochet. It all boils down to "your another," IMO.

Do the Dems get away with some things because they are perceived as the ones who did the "Civil Rights", and can get a pass because of it? Yes. Is is really important in the present scheme of things? No.

I think it's important to remember about Lott that it was not the Dems who did him in; it was members of his own party with more than a little help from the White House.

Whatever one thinks of the relative sins of Lott and Byrd.

Talk about old news.
