Mr. bill did nothing to muck it up. That is the best one can say. James Burke is an atheist I believe. I recall a long time ago being fascinated by his book and TV series called Connections. Each episode was an essay on chaotic events that occurred and how often solutions to common
problems lead the advances in technology. Progress was in fits and starts and often far more result of luck of association than any real planning. And in the end the observation or proffer made by Mr. Burke was this. The rate of progress of Mankind is really only paced by the rate of exchange of information. As more and more people have more and more access to information, the planned and serendipitous enhance of information leads to more and more progress.

The progress of the Nineties was about the massive computerification and internetification of the USA. That lead to massive efficiencies increases in all production processes and the ability to do more and more with less and less created wealth.

But not understanding the nature of what really was the cause led many to go crazy with some really dumb ideas and tons of money went into dumb stuff and billions and billions of funny money profits created an enormous windfall for the TAX and SPEND team. After the clearly predicted bubble burst. there are no more bubble profits and in fact so many have or carry so much capitol loss that revenue will be down in capitol gains taxes for several years.

In America today there has been an entirely different attitude of the people. Their has been fear and doubt and uncertainty and if it were only caused by the stock market and the large over capacity in technology inventories off 2001, I believe the economy would be doing quite well.

The biggest massive expense placed upon the economy and the American people was 9-11. The opportunity costs of all the people numbed by that obscene event, the huge changes in travel and the times and material costs of created security are monster drags on the economy.

The question is how responsible is Mr. Bill and his stupidity, his acts that disheartened and distracted America responsible for 9-11.

I mentioned Mr. Burke was an atheist as I always look for the truth in the ideas of another that make sense and don't discount all because I don't share a particular belief or article of faith of another. I so often see vacant liberal minded lefty loons using that as an argument or rationale. Thus such arguments style is a very good indicator of a such a person.

ummm, well, his 1993 budget turned the national debt from about 4 trillion dollars in the red into--all too temporarily, thanks to Bush Junior--a surplus, which then led to all sorts of other beneficial activity (creation of millions of jobs, etc.) (and he did it without a single Republican vote--many of whom, however, predicted all sorts dire stuff that never came to pass).

How's that?

Those are all examples of how wonderful the economy of the high flying 90s was.......

What SPECIFICALLY did Bill Clinton do that made all of this possible?
