Remember the Mohawk from Nam? The Mohawk was used for recon among other missions. I believe it had a type of side looking radar...but I never saw it used for spotting or forward air control and I never saw one fitted with the rocket pods necessary to fire the FAC's willie pete rounds. That job at least when I called in air strikes went to the Cessna O-1 and O-2 and later (I believe in late 68) to the OV-10 "Bronco".

A10 is the worlds best GS vehicle. Can only hope they will double their orders. Perhaps there could be an iteration of a hardened SF130 put together. With the new lightweight armor that could become another emergent platform spread across a wider service. The Attack Helicopters that were equipped with new armor did not come down is what I'm hearing. So we have a case where some % of the force was upgraded and the other part was not. An A10 drone might be nice. Upgraded SW with swarm capability, ouch.
