I'm wondering what connections besides the name Mithra, Mithraism of the Roman Empire period had with Zoroastrianism? The Roman era Mithraism - did it have the Avesta? Apparently not - it seems not to have had any scriptures. Did they believe in deavas and yazatas, did they believe in a end of times cosmic conflict between the forces of good and evil, etc.? Was there a place for Ahura Mazda in Mithraism?
