those who meet challenges to their character and leadership in an honorable manner

I am not sure if a turn from "coke addict/alcoholic" into "religious fanatic" qualifies for such glorification.

MOLLY IVIN'S "SHRUB" dispels these delusions you suffer from...

JotW,

Re: and those who meet challenges to their character and leadership in an honorable manner (Bush, so far).

You apparently aren't much of a reader. You could find out some really useful facts if you would bother.

Bush sells himself as someone in the oil business. He failed at every business he was involved, making money only when he sold "influence" to important family friends who bail Dubya out of bad businesses.

He was a coke addict and alcoholic.

In fact, the reason he went AWOL from the undeserved position he got at the Texas Air National Guard was because the National Guard had instituted a drug test into their program in mid-1972, and Bush knew he would fail the test. Then he went AWOL for 14 months. Finally, he was given a desk job in Denver and inexplicably released early, against National Guard policy which was to send bad boys to Viet Nam.

The Shrub used his influence in Arlington, Texas to steal property that became the grounds for the Texas Rangers' Statium, a facility which Dubya and friends conned the public into buying for them.

He was guilty of insider trading at Harken Energy.

He engaged in notorious efforts to screw Hispanic kids out of public health care and polluters out of environmental laws while gloating at being Texas' chief executioner as Governor.

He stole the 2000 elections.

He's created a horrible culture of fear and naked militarism while in the White House.

How in the world can you call this man decent?

Please, read his history. It's scary as hell.
