Sorry you are out of luck. The companies that are getting rich off of building and running prisons have better lobbyists and more money than the pot smokers. What you need is for the pot growers to get involved then you would have a real battle. Unfortunately, most of them like to keep a low profile for some reason or another. <g>

Also, I have heard rumors that the tobacco companies have plans in place and seeds ready so they can quickly get into the pot business if the opportunity arises. To bad the big tobacco lobbyists seem to be getting sh*t kicked out of them lately by other more powerful groups.

There is also a chance that the crappy economy that is hitting the state coffers will weaken the power of the groups in favor of more and bigger prisons. I guess that could be one benefit of a depression. Freedom through poverty?

BH:

Our beloved provincial government just added to the budget up here to hire 300 more highway cops. Unreal!

Up here, on the major highways, the traffic universally zips along without problems at 120 Km to 125 Km (speed limit 100Km). That is, until someone sees a cop on the side of the road, whereupon everybody slams on the brakes and the fender-benders begin.

Of course the slower they force the traffic to move, the less efficient the highway becomes, which means that more of them must be built. Brilliant.

Personally, I have long since come to view traffic tickets as just one more way in which our governments reach into our back pockets.

As far as a good investment is concerned, I'm looking for a company that can produce a completely non-detectable radar/laser detector (and up here, it is illegal to use a radar detector). I'b buy their product in a minute and invest as well. (g)

Best, Earlie

<<I think more people need to be concerned about this, not just pot smoking hippies.>>

I agree. If I can't buy government certified BC bud at the local 7-11 for under $100 an oz, the terrorists have already won!<G>

We don't have a problem with overcrowded prisons in Texas. We simply kill several of the prisoners when they start getting densely populated. Sadly, no <G> on that one.

>>...while we let true murderers go free because our prisons are at 136% CAPACITY!<<

Maybe we should use those 27% of factory space for prison since only 73% of industrial capacity is being used now<g>. but wait a minute, state governments do not have enough money to pay for prison guards<g>
