I had best not respond to your comments and the article for two reasons; it would take to much time I don't want to spend and you wouldn't like what I have to say. No point in stirring both of us up.

Some reading that would turn most heads regarding both subjects;

"The Frontiersmen" by Allan W. Eckert, a book of fact, not fiction. Terrific account from the settlers and the Indians point of view.

"Joy of Myth" by Joseph Campbell

"The Illness That We Are" A Jungian Critique of Christianity by John P. Dourley

"Escaping The Self" Alcoholism, Spirituality, Masochism, and other Flights From The Burden Of Self.
by Roy F. Baumeister Phd.

"The For Agreements" by Can't think of his name.

"A Primer Of Jungian Psychology" by calvin S. Hall & Vernon J. Norby

"Beyond Good and Evil" by Friedrich Nietzsche

"Religion is the daughter of hope and fear trying to explain the unknowable to the ignorant."

Santiago > we have been killing off races since the founding of America

As far as I know, everyone and anyone, black, white, brown, yellow, pink, green, blue, you-name-it has been killing off anyone and everyone since the beginning of recorded history. Not only are humans expert at killing each other, they are even better at killing off fauna and flora, everywhere. They are also experts in finding all sorts of weird and wonderful reasons and myths to justify any and all of this activity.

The Americans are not unique here, nor are they the worst but, surprisingly, it does seem that they still believe that warlike behaviour is an attribute worth having and developing when, in fact, it has been of little advantage to them, certainly in the last 50 years.

> There is a great deal of validity to this point

I accept what you say but I'm not in any position to discuss, particularly from a religious aspect, either a variety of esoteric Christianity or Zionism. It is interesting, however, that Christian Zionism, which seems a contradiction in terms, is so popular in the US and that it possibly could be used to explain both the US position in the Mid East and the common cause apparently existing between right-wing Christians and right-wing Jews.

To my mind, the common purpose in the theft of someone else's oil and the theft of someone else's land makes more sense.
