SI is, and I'm sure, will be the BEST message board around, flint. No worries....

Don't misunderstand me. I'm not planning to "clamp down" on what I refer to as "noise". If there were no noise, it'd be the clearest sign of no loyalty to the site. No sense of "home".

I only wish to change the ratios to be more to my liking and I won't need to do anything heavy-handed to make that happen. If, as a rather extreme and not terribly likely example, some of the larger "noise" areas (politics comes to mind) were spun off to a different site, the interface would be such that the other site could be easily reached from here and vice-versa and lifetime memberships here would be honored there.

And, like with iHub, free members, when they're eventually allowed to post, will not be allowed to post anywhere but market-related threads. I still haven't worked out how even that will work because I'm always going to be mindful of what premium members have paid for and one of the things we've paid for is the exclusivity or talking stocks only with others who take the market seriously enough to have plunked down some hard-earned for the privilege of posting about them here.

So, it's too early to try to pin me down for a straight answer as to exactly what will change in this regard and how. Just understand that when I'm ready to address the issues I see and want to solve, I won't be making such drastic changes that anyone's going to want a refund.
