Re: Worse: there is no turning back.

That is the most idiotic statement you've ever uttered.

What the Bushistas, the theocratic Scalia, the fascistic Ashcroft, the bribed Blair and craven coterie of CEOs are realizing is that there is an anger in civil society that they will not be able to overcome with sophistry and swordsmanship.

The day of the ubermensch like the under-achiever Shrub is short. He's already viewed by the entire planet, sans American delusionists, as the most dangerous man on the planet. No one, not even this deserter/inside trader/scoundrel is going to be pulling the wool over everyone's eyes for long. As the CEO of corporate America, le petite dauphine draws some ire from the likes of Robin Williams, for instance, who quipped: "Getting a lesson in business ethics from George Bush is like getting a facial from a leper."

Politicians don't survive withering ridicule for long. Bush is merely a Shrub.

Your problem is that you don't understand economics very well. Closed national and regional systems work quite nicely. The Swiss didn't get rich in a very democratic fashion by trying to compete with the Haitians. They chose a better playing field.

In the meantime, and while the Swiss have done what is necessary to protect their own, George Bush sells out the rest of America that doesn't bribe him to any sleazeball sweatshop nation. America needs to wake up to the fact that George Bush is selling us out for the best bribe on offer.

Once this nation understands that concept, we can hoist King George and his royal ilk on their own petards.
